About Jason Anthony
I am a military veteran with over 22 years in the infantry. I conducted three tours of duty: One in Bosnia and two in Afghanistan. After speaking with a psychologist who's clients were veterans; he said that he couldn't retire because there was no one to look after them. I decided right there and then I was going to become a social worker. I completed my Bachelor of Social Work with honours at Wilfrid Laurier University from 2021-2025 and completed my Master of Social Work at the Univesity of Toronto from 2025-2026.

EMDR
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a powerful, science-backed therapy that helps your brain reprocess unfinished or "stuck" traumatic memories. When a memory is unprocessed, reminders can make you feel like the trauma is happening all over again.
During an EMDR session, you hold the target memory in mind while following a simple back-and-forth cue—like eye movements, tones, or taps. This keeps one foot in the present while your brain safely finishes processing the past, turning a painful memory into something that feels distant and neutral. Best of all, it doesn't require talking in-depth about your trauma or doing homework between sessions.
Cognitive Processing Therapy
When you experience trauma, your brain does what it needs to do to survive. But sometimes, the survival strategies that kept you alive downrange keep you trapped when you get home.
If you find yourself constantly on guard, struggling to trust others, or blaming yourself for things outside your control, you aren’t broken. You are experiencing "stuck points"—and Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) is designed to help you break through them.
CPT is a highly effective, structured talk therapy explicitly designed to treat PTSD and trauma-related symptoms. Backed by decades of research, CPT is considered a gold-standard treatment for military-related trauma.
Cognitive Behaviour Therapy
A widely used, evidence-based talk therapy that focuses on the powerful connection between your thoughts, your feelings, and your actions. It operates on a simple, core principle: how we perceive and think about a situation directly shapes how we feel emotionally and how we behave.
When people experience mental health struggles, they can get trapped in unhelpful, automatic cycles. CBT helps individuals recognize these cycles and break them apart.
Dialectical Behaviour Therapy
If you experience emotions that feel like a tidal wave, or find yourself stuck in "all-or-nothing" thinking, you are not alone. Traditional talk therapy is great for understanding why you feel the way you do, but DBT gives you the actual roadmap for what to do next.
What does "Dialectical" mean?
It is a big word for a simple, life-changing concept: two opposite things can be true at the same time. In our work together, the core dialectic we will practice is accepting yourself exactly as you are right now, AND actively working to change your life for the better.
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) is a mindfulness based behavioral therapy that aims to increase psychological flexibility through six core processes: acceptance, cognitive defusion, present moment awareness, self as context, values, and committed action.
ACT helps people change their relationship with difficult thoughts and emotions rather than trying to eliminate them. It encourages accepting internal experiences, clarifying personal values, and taking action aligned with those values.
ACT is used for anxiety, depression, OCD, PTSD, chronic pain, addiction, stress, and other conditions.
Narrative Therapy
Narrative therapy views people as authors of their own stories and assumes that identity is shaped by the narratives individuals construct about their experiences.
It emphasizes that the person is not the problem—problems are external influences that can be examined and changed.
Narrative therapy is applied to:
• Depression, anxiety, PTSD, ADHD, OCD
• Trauma recovery and identity-related concerns
• Family and relationship issues
• Self-critical or problem-saturated stories.
Narrative therapy ultimately empowers individuals to reshape their life stories in ways that support resilience, meaning, and personal growth.
Emotion Focused Therapy
Emotions are not something to get rid of or push away—they are an essential compass. They tell you what matters most, what you need, and how to guide your life forward.
In Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), we work together to help you safely connect with your emotional experiences. When old emotional patterns or past hurts leave you feeling stuck, anxious, or disconnected, EFT helps you transform those heavy, non-productive feelings into healthy, adaptive ones that support your well-being.
You don’t have to just "think" your way through pain. We will work experientially—moving at a pace that feels safe—to help you build self-compassion, strengthen your emotional intelligence, and find a deeper sense of clarity and relief.
